Job summary

Progress Rail is seeking an associate to breakdown, wash, inspect, repair and assemble train car bearings and components at our Arab, AL facility. You will work on part inspection and reconditioning on the assembly line, with opportunities to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.

The role requires ability to read precision instruments, use hand tools, and collaborate as a team member. Shifts include 1st and 2nd with overtime and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prefer 6 months experience as machine operator.
• Ability to read precision instruments and gauges.
• Capable use of hand tools.
• Work around overhead cranes and mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Works with new and used railroad bearings.
• Inspect parts and recondition freight car bearings on the assembly line.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Work 1st shift (Mon - Fri 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM) or 2nd shift (Mon - Thurs 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM) with overtime and weekends required.
