Job summary

Progress Rail, a Caterpillar Company, is seeking a Machine Operator in Mojave, CA to set up equipment, load materials, operate machines, and monitor efficiency. You will produce and refurbish wheels to AAR standards, with 2nd shift hours from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm and a $18.50/hr base pay plus shift differential.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, ability to read gauges and drawings, and experience with hand and power tools.

Qualifications

Job Purpose

A Machine Operator is responsible for a variety of machine -specific functions -- from setting up equipment, loading materials, operating machinery, to monitoring and optimizing efficiency, maintaining machines and performing quality checks. A machinist will typically have the knowledge and ability to operate/utilize various machines to produce high quality axles through either our machining process with various lathes and end mills or through our plating process to refurbish.
