Job summary

C Spire is seeking a Home Services Technician to install and support residential fiber, IPTV, and smart home systems in the Mississippi area. You will wire, configure, and test networks, coordinate with customers, and ensure high quality service delivery.

This role involves field work, physical tasks, and occasional after‑hours on‑call shifts to support customers and maintain service reliability. Join a team focused on exceptional customer experience and community impact.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with IPTV, cable TV, and/or home automation/security systems beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service mindset.
• Experience with fiber splicing, wireline phone service, wireless routers, and wireless technology helpful.

Responsibilities

• Install and service IPTV, high‑speed data, and voice services in residential environments.
• Work with wireless video equipment, run and pull cables, and provision equipment per codes.
• Install and service home security and automation systems.
• Splice fiber connectors and use OTDR, light meters, and diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software, test performance, and configure networks.
• Demonstrate systems to clients and secure training sign‑off.
• Support after‑hours and weekend on‑call duties.

You’ll work hands-on in the field, problem-solve on the fly, and collaborate closely with teammates to deliver exceptional service and cutting-edge connectivity.Responsibilities:What You Will DoIn all of your duties, you will have a relentless, obsessive, yet disciplined approach to manage all details to perfection and deliver desired results.Install and service IPTV, high-speed data, and voice services in residential environmentsWork with wireless video equipment, run and pull cables, and provision equipment according to codes and standardsInstall and service home security and automation systems, adhering to licensing and safety requirementsSplice fiber connectors; use OTDR, light meters, and other fiber diagnostic toolsTroubleshoot hardware and software issues; adjust or replace inoperative equipment and test for performanceConduct customer premise surveys, recommend equipment placement, and manage scheduling impactsWire CAT6 and/or fiber optic drops inside customer homes as directedDemonstrate systems to clients and secure training sign-offConfigure both wired and wireless networks and devicesMaintain company tools and assets, reporting any defective materials or inaccurate job informationClean up work areas post-installation and patch drill holesWork shift rotations including Saturdays; be available for after-hours and weekend on-call dutyPerform additional duties as assignedThis position is an exceptional introduction to home fiber installation, as there is plenty of room to grow and learn from outstanding individuals in the field. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends in an on-call/emergency environment. Must be able to handle and move 50 lbs. or more. Must be able to work on a ladder for an extended period. Must have good hand-eye coordination. Must be able to operate tools and equipment. Must be able to traverse difficult terrain, bend, crawl, and work in attics and outdoor weather conditions for extended periods. Must be available via phone 24/7 for emergencies and on-call as directed. Regional and occasional long-distance travel required.
