Job summary

C Spire is seeking a Technician, Field Splicing I–III to support fiber optic deployment across Alabama locations (Troy, Dothan, Enterprise, Montgomery). The role involves reading splice records, performing fiber splicing, and supporting OSP extensions under supervision.

This is a full-time field position with growth opportunities in a collaborative team. You will perform testing, documentation, and coordination with other departments to ensure high-quality fiber network construction and

Qualifications

• Read splicing records and splice fiber as directed by supervisor.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of testing and troubleshooting fiber optics.
• Read engineering drawings and correlate them to physical plant.
• Assist in physical cable placement and OSP extensions.
• Perform visual inspections of OSP construction for quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
