Reports To:Fire Alarm & Security Supervisor - Safety & Security

EMPLOYMENT BEGINS:As soon as possible

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

  • To be responsible for installation and maintenance of all fire alarm systems. Conduct annual fire alarm system inspections..

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

  • Possess a current State of Texas Fire Alarm Technician license (required)
  • Licensed Fire Alarm Technician will receive additional compensation above minimum rate for confirmation of current/active fire alarm license.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • The ability to logically troubleshoot technical problems
  • Effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills

EXPERIENCE:

  • Direct experience in the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems
  • Direct experience in the installation and servicing of Notifier and Firelite equipment

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Responsible for installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems
  • Provide technical assistance related to fire alarm systems issues
  • Work with district administrators to ensure employees receive need support and training
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to work in high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
  • Communicating well in both oral and written form, complying with time lines.
  • Reaching with hands and arms and frequently repeating the same hand, arm or finger motion.
  • Occasional lifting and /or moving of up to 50 lbs.
  • Seeing close work such as typed or handwritten material
