Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA, is seeking an ED Tech to assist in delivering nursing care in the Emergency Department, under the direction of a registered nurse. The role follows SMH policies and regulatory guidelines, with a 32-hour workweek from 9am to 5pm.

Ideal candidates will have high school graduation, BLS certification, and strong communication skills. Previous nursing assistant experience is preferred, and the hospital emphasizes teamwork and patient-centered care.

Job description

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32 - Under the direction and supervision of a professional registered nurse, assists in rendering nursing care in the ED. Functions within policies, procedures and guidelines of SMH in accordance with the MDPH, DNV, CDC and OSHA standards, and any other applicable regulatory or accreditation agency. 32 Hours: 9am - 5pm

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills needed to assist in providing care to patients; all approaches to a patient are sensitive to the patient’s age, culture and potential disability. Positive interpersonal communication skills and good organizational skills. Must meet all criteria associated with responsibilities listed in the core and unit-specific competencies for an ED Tech. Must visibly demonstrate commitment to customer relations and all basic concepts of continuous quality improvement and preventing error from reaching the patient. Provides timely, positive responses to the needs of all customers including patients, families, co-workers and physicians.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

Previous nursing assistant training or related experience (EMT, Paramedic, nursing student).

Educational Requirements:

License/Certification:

Salary Range: $19.85-$30.05

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. For annual salaries this is based on full-time employment.
