Job summary

Proampac Ontario Plant is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to keep our operations safe and productive. You’ll onboard on day shift for 30 days, then switch to an AWS schedule with 12‑hour days and alternating 4‑day/3‑day weeks, onsite in Ontario, CA.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing production machinery, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical issues, supporting breakdowns and service calls,

Qualifications

• Ten or more years in industrial maintenance experience are required.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills are expected.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is required.
• Basic electrical and controls knowledge is needed.
• Experience working in manufacturing environments is essential.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks is important.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production machinery, utilities, and facility equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.
• Support production during breakdowns and service calls.
• Complete work orders through the CMMS system.
• Install, modify, and improve equipment for reliability.
• Assist with plant modernization and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain pumps, motors, compressors, chillers, and other equipment.
• Work independently while collaborating with operations and maintenance teams.
• Support safety inspections and hazard identification to uphold the culture.

In this role, you will be oriented to our team, machines and process for the first 30 days on day shift, then work a regular shift - on what is called a Alternative Work Schedule (AWS), of alternating 4 day and 3-day workweeks of 12 hour days. Overtime is paid after 10 hours.

As a Maintenance Technician III, you'll be responsible for keeping our operation running safely and efficiently by:

• Troubleshooting and repairing production machinery, utilities, and facility equipment
• Performing preventive and predictive maintenance activities
• Diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues
• Supporting production during breakdowns and service calls
• Completing work orders through our CMMS system
• Installing, modifying, and improving equipment for increased reliability
• Assisting with plant modernization and continuous improvement projects
• Maintaining pumps, motors, compressors, chillers, and other industrial equipment
• Working independently while collaborating with operations and maintenance teams
• Supporting our world-class safety culture through inspections and hazard identification

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
• Basic electrical and controls knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school degree or equivalent experience
• Journeyman-level experience in electrical, millwright, or related trades
• PLC troubleshooting experience
• Experience with printing presses, extrusion equipment, bag machines, or converting equipment
• CMMS experience
• Mechanic certifications
• Spanish bilingual skills
