Job summary

CommScope is seeking an EHS Technician to support Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs across two North Carolina manufacturing facilities. You will serve as the primary EHS resource during second‑shift operations (3:00 PM–11:00 PM), ensuring regulatory compliance and driving safety initiatives.

Responsibilities include conducting inspections, investigations, training, and recordkeeping. Travel between sites is required to ensure consistent program implementation and support

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required.
  • 1 year of experience in EHS in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Position Summary

The EHS Technician supports Environmental, Health, Safety, Business Continuity, and Security programs across two North Carolina manufacturing facilities. Serving as the primary EHS resource during second‑shift operations (3:00 PM–11:00 PM), this role ensures regulatory compliance, supports emergency preparedness and security initiatives, manages incident response activities, and promotes a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Safety & Health
  • Lead second‑shift EHS support across both facilities.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; support corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety programs.
  • Deliver safety and contractor training.
  • Support ergonomics, injury prevention, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with compliance related to permits and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct inspections of waste management and chemical storage areas.
  • Support spill prevention, response, and environmental reporting activities.
  • Maintain required environmental records and documentation.
EHS Programs & Administration
  • Maintain EHS records, metrics, and compliance documentation.
  • Track corrective actions and support regulatory reporting.
  • Participate in audits, committees, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support contractor management and EHS procedure development.
Business Continuity & Emergency Preparedness
  • Support emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity programs.
  • Participate in drills, exercises, and preparedness activities.
  • Conduct inspections of emergency equipment and response resources.
  • Assist with operational risk assessments and continuity planning.
Security Programs
  • Support physical security, access control, and visitor management processes.
  • Conduct security inspections and assist with investigations.
  • Partner with HR, Facilities, and Operations to mitigate security risks.
  • Support security awareness training and recordkeeping.
Multi‑Site Support
  • Travel between both North Carolina facilities as required.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of EHS, Security, and Business Continuity programs.
  • Provide after‑hours support to operations and leadership.
  • Serve as a visible advocate for safety, preparedness, and compliance.
Required training once hired
  • Level 1 Wastewater Operator, State of North Carolina
  • American Heart Association Certified Trainer
  • Competent Person Miller Fall Protection

Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in related area.
  • 1 year experience in EHS area within a manufacturing environment.
  • Available to work in the second shift (3:00‑11:00 pm)
  • Able to commute within the N.C. CommScope facilities
