Operations Superintendent

Location: Catawba, North Carolina, United States

We are looking for a talented Operations Superintendent for our Catawba, NC facility to oversee the production process, manage project timelines, and ensure the efficient manufacturing of fiber optic cables. This role coordinates various operations activities, quality control, and execution of project management principles to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

Operations Management
  1. Supervise and coordinate all operations activities, including scheduling, and execution and ensure adherence to production schedules and meet delivery deadlines.
  2. Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency.
  3. Maintain accurate production records and generate reports for senior management.
Project Management
  1. Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for cable production.
  2. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure project success.
  3. Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  4. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Quality Assurance
  1. Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure the production of high-quality cables and conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address quality issues.
  2. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to develop and implement corrective actions.
  3. Lead and mentor operations staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  4. Facilitate training and development programs to enhance team skills and capabilities and conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  5. Promote a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
  1. Three or more years of experience in operations management and project management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the cable industry.
  2. Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and project management principles.
  3. Demonstrated experience leading a team.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
You Will Excite Us If You Have:
  1. Familiarity with cable production and industry-specific standards.
  2. Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
  3. Proficiency in project management software and tools and certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  4. Experience with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
