Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Technician, Avionics and Electronics for the Overnight Shift at our Hartford Service Center. You will troubleshoot, repair, and service avionics and electrical/electronic equipment, adhere to manuals and safety regulations, and support ground operations across maintenance disciplines.

The role requires avionics/electric training, 2+ years of avionics experience, ability to read electrical drawings, and readiness to work overnight shifts and overtime.

Qualifications

• Avionics/EC tech school or equivalent required.
• Typically 2+ years avionics experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read electrical engineering drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Own basic set of hand tools; inventory control.
• Must obtain GSE qualifications as required.
• Able to work overtime and outdoors in seasonal weather.
• SIDA badge if applicable.
• GROL/AET certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service avionics, electrical and electronic equipment.
• Perform and document work per manuals and regulations.
• Operate ground support equipment as required.
• Assist with mechanical/electrical removals and installations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• May assist with maintenance at off-site locations.
• Assist other maintenance disciplines.

Overnight (3rd Shift) Schedule Requirement

This position is a permanent overnight (3rd shift) role working from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM . Candidates must be available to work one of the following schedules:

• 3A Shift: Every other Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
• 3B Shift: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday

What are your contributions to the team?

• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hangar positions)
• Comply with environmental health / safety policies and procedures. Participate in 5-S activities. Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service aircraft avionics, electrical and electronic equipment
• Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required
• Operate ground support equipment as required
• Assist with mechanical / electrical removals and installations
• Perform other duties as assigned
• May assist with maintenance at off-site locations
• Assist other maintenance disciplines

How to thrive in this role?

• Avionics / electric A/C Technical School or other substantiated equivalent
• Typically 2+ years' avionics work experience or substantiated equivalent experience
• Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings
• Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status
• Own Basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory & control of tools
• Must obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment Qualifications as required
• Must be able to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidays
• Must be able to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside
• Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) (if applicable)
• A Certification if required by customer (Commercial Aircraft)
• GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certificate
• Experience on corporate jet aircraft / commercial aircraft
• Basic PC skills
