Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Hartford, CT is seeking an Interior Craftsperson for an overnight (3rd shift) role from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. 1-3 years of Interiors Remove & Install experience on corporate aircraft and ability to read mechanical drawings are preferred.

You will fabricate, install and refurbish interior equipment, document work per manuals, and adhere to safety policies while supporting maintenance at various locations.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of Interiors Remove & Install experience on corporate aircraft.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Basic PC skills and documentation discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, install and refurbish aircraft interior equipment and furnishings per work orders.
  • Perform and document all work per manuals and regulations.
  • Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements and safety policies.
  • Travel on international assignments if required.

Overnight (3rd Shift) Schedule Requirement

This position is a permanent overnight (3rd shift) role working from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Candidates must be available to work one of the following schedules:

  • 3A Shift: Every other Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
  • 3B Shift: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday
What are your contributions to the team?
  • Fabricate, install and refurbish aircraft interior equipment and furnishings per work order or customer request
  • Perform and document all work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required
  • Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hanger positions)
  • Comply with environmental health / safety policies / procedures
  • Participate in 5-S activities
  • Assist with additional work on drop-ins and planned maintenance within the facility during slow periods of unplanned work as needed
  • Clean aircraft as required
  • Travel on international assignments if required
  • Assist with maintenance at off-site locations as needed
  • Assist with other maintenance disciplines as needed
How to thrive in this role?
  • You typically have 1-3 years of Interiors Remove & Install experience on corporate aircraft
  • You demonstrate the ability to break down cabinets remove hardware, inlay etc.
  • You demonstrate ability to strip finish utilizing heat and scraper
  • You have experience with sanding and prepping raw veneer and hardwood for finish, including touching up defects in veneer
  • You can mix match and apply stains and paints on new veneers
  • You have knowledge on spraying polyester base coats and urethane top coats
  • You have experience with Aircraft touch up
  • You demonstrate the ability to mask and unmask components for finish process
  • You demonstrate the ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
  • You demonstrate the ability to communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status
  • You have Basic PC skills
