Job summary

Bombardier in Hartford Service Center is seeking an experienced Avionics and Electronics Technician to join the maintenance team. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing and servicing avionics and electrical systems on corporate and commercial aircraft, with responsibility for compliance with manuals and safety policies.

Candidates should have an avionics or electric A/C technical school background, typically 2+ years of hands-on experience, and the ability to read electrical drawings.

Qualifications

• Avionics experience with wiring, troubleshooting and servicing avionics/electrical systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Own basic set of hand tools and demonstrate control of tools.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to general work requirements for factory or hangar positions.
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and service avionics and electrical systems.
• Perform tasks per manuals and regulations.
• Operate ground support equipment as required.
• Assist with removals and installations.
• Work overtime and holidays as needed.
• Possibly support off-site locations.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hangar positions)

• Comply with environmental health / safety policies and procedures. Participate in 5-S activities. Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service aircraft avionics, electrical and electronic equipment

• Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required

• Operate ground support equipment as required

• Assist with mechanical / electrical removals and installations

• Perform other duties as assigned

• May assist with maintenance at off-site locations

• Assist other maintenance disciplines

How to thrive in this role?

• Avionics / electric A/C Technical School or other substantiated equivalent

• Typically 2+ years' avionics work experience or substantiated equivalent experience

• Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings

• Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status

• Own Basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory & control of tools

• Must obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment Qualifications as required

• Must be able to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidays

• Must be able to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside

• Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) (if applicable)

• A Certification if required by customer (Commercial Aircraft)

• GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certificate

• Experience on corporate jet aircraft / commercial aircraft

• Basic PC skills
