Job summary

Holt of California seeks a skilled field service technician to repair and maintain rental equipment at customer sites, including driving to machine locations and documenting service reports.

Responsibilities

• Drive to machine location for service.
• Handle field service calls.
• Disassemble unit and inspect wear.
• Repair, overhauls, or replaces pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
• Replace carburetors, blowers, generators, starters, pumps, and distributors.
• Repair or adjust headlights, radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
• Work on ignition system, lights, and instrument panels.
• Realign and adjust brakes.
• Write service reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

Repairs and maintains all types of rental equipment, which includes driving to machine location.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives to machine location.
• Handles all types of field service calls.
• Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear.
• Repairs, overhauls, or replaces:
• Pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
• Replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, starters, pumps, and distributors.
• Repair or adjust headlights, radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
• Working knowledge of ignition system, lights, and instrument panels.
• Realigns and adjusts brakes.
• Writes service reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write service reports.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school or GED and/or five years of equipment experience are required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid driver license class C or higher. Must have a clean D.M.V. report.

COMPENSATION

Wage Range $36.00 to $38.00 Hourly

Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
