Position Summary

Repairs and overhauls new and used earthmoving equipment and/or company‑owned equipment at customers’ sites by performing the following duties.

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Class C driver license; preferred Class B license with a clean DMV report.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on various types of construction machines, including dozers, haul trucks, backhoes, skid steers, motor graders, scrapers, wheel loaders, and various other machinery and attachments.
• Perform thorough machine inspections utilizing CAT inspection apps.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on machines following manufacturer guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, engine, and powertrain systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair technology systems including Product Link, Payload Monitoring, VIMS, and Grade Control on various machines.
• Use computer diagnostic tooling and manufacturer software systems when diagnosing and repairing equipment.
• Read, trace, and apply electrical and hydraulic schematics to complex machine systems.
• Complete all electronic data entry and paperwork, including service reports, time entry, warranty tickets, and inspections.
• Communicate repair directions and make warranty recommendations.
• Work independently or as part of a team, including coaching and mentoring technicians as needed.
• Promote a positive safety culture while following company safety policies and regulations.
• Maintain current safety training and certifications, including OSHA, MSHA, forklift, and Smith Driving.
• Other duties as assigned.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Physical Demands

The job requires frequent use of hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, and controls, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, talking, and listening. Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Frequent lifting or moving of 50 to 100 pounds.

Work Environment

Work is conducted outdoors in various weather conditions and may involve wet or humid environments, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise levels.

Pay Range

Hourly rate negotiated with Operating Engineers, Local #3. Includes company‑paid benefits such as medical, dental, retirement, vacations, and holidays.
