Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Technician 3, SMT Operator for a leading manufacturing organization that specializes in electronic components in Lockport, NY. The role supports production operations in the manufacturing department.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and a proactive attitude, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics, operate SMT equipment, and document activities accurately. Overtime may be available during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills are required.
• Able to read blueprints, schematics, work instructions and BOMs.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and ESD precautions.
• Ability to recognize process or component issues and resolve problems promptly.
• Good hand-eye coordination and ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate SMT automated pick and place equipment to manufacture PC boards per schedules and standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on machinery for optimal performance.
• Read and interpret assembly prints, schematics, and work instructions to set up and operate equipment.
• Participate in troubleshooting to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Maintain detailed records of production activities and machine maintenance.

Our client, a leading manufacturing organization specializing in electronic components, is seeking a Technician 3, SMT Operatorto join their team. As a Test Technician, you will be part of the manufacturing department supporting production operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Lockport, NY

Pay Range:$26-$35/hr

Shift: 7am - 3:30pm, Monday through Friday

What's the Job?

• Operate Surface Mount Technology (SMT) automated pick and place equipment to manufacture PC Boards according to production schedules and standards.
• Perform periodic clean-up and routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Read and interpret assembly prints, schematics, work instructions, and specifications to accurately set up and operate equipment.
• Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities to maintain high quality and efficiency.
• Keep detailed and accurate records of production activities and machine maintenance.
