Job summary

Aggreko in Reno, Nevada is seeking a Technician 2 Power to service, repair, commission and operate Aggreko products at customer sites and in shops. Based in Reno, this role supports natural gas solutions at the South Valley/Peru Ridge data center.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, lead moderate job-site setups, and mentor junior technicians while upholding OSHA and EPA safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma/GED.
• Valid driver’s license and required certifications to operate equipment.
• Be a well-rounded tech across multiple products and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and moderate repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and/or oil-free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot extensive equipment failures at shop or customer locations, test and repair solo or with another technician.
• Complete paperwork timely and accurately, including data entry and use of relevant computer systems.
• Lead moderate job-site setups and mentor lower-level Technicians.
• Maintain knowledge and practice safe working conditions per OSHA, EPA and related regulations.

Bring your energy to Aggreko as Technician 2 Power based in Reno, Nevada.

You’ll work as a team and independently in shops and at customer sites to service, repair, commission, and operate Aggreko products.

This role will be supporting natural gas solutions at the South Valley/Peru Ridge data center customer site.

What You’ll Do As a Technician 2 Power

• Perform preventive maintenance and execute moderate repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and/or oil free air compressors
• Troubleshoot extensive equipment failures at the shop or on customer locations, test and handle the repairs on your own or with another technician(s)
• Complete necessary paperwork timely and accurately which may include data entry and general use of relevant computer systems and software as directed.
• Lead moderate job site setups and mentor lower-level Technicians
• Maintain thorough knowledge of, actively practice, and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA, EPA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment.

Here’s What You’ll Get

• Technical aptitude: knowledge in generators, industrial HVAC equipment, air compressors, electrical distribution, power generation, load banks, and/or BESS products.
• Mechanically inclined: familiar with hand tool operation and have automotive lube and oil change as well as troubleshooting and testing experience.
• Ability to do both physical work as well as think through and resolve technical problems; willing to get hands dirty, sweat, and interact with internal and external customers to deliver solutions that meet and exceed customer requirements.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and obtain & maintain necessary certifications required to operate any equipment as dictated by federal, state and/or local ordinances.
• Be a well-rounded tech in multiple products; multi-skilled.
• Must have High School Diploma/GED

Other Essential Job Requirements

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
