Job summary

Aggreko plc in Shakopee, MN seeks an HVAC Technician 1 to troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC equipment at customer sites and in the shop. You will travel locally in a company vehicle and may work overtime or weekends as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2–5 years of HVAC experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. TWIC/DOT cards may be required depending on customer work orders.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 2-5 years of experience working on commercial HVAC equipment, inspections, maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card if required by customer.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be able to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Work in the field with local travel daily in company vehicle.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required; travel potential exists.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at shop and at customer locations; perform repairs.

What you’ll do:

• Expect to work in the field with local travel daily in your company vehicle
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites

You are:

• Able to provide a High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
• Proven to have 2-5 years of experience working on commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

• Availability to work the assignedschedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be onstandbyfor work outside of regularly scheduledshifts
• Must be able to stand,walkand sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrainwith functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat.
