Job summary

Briggs Industrial Solutions, part of Sammons Industrial, is seeking a Service Technician I for on-site work. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and material handling equipment in our shop or at customer locations, with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy.

You will build hands-on skills, document service activities, and participate in on-call rotations. A HS diploma and forklift experience are required; certifications on half of the product line are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift repair or related mechanical experience (1+ year).
• Certifications on at least 50% of the product line are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair forklifts and related equipment.
• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic welding.
• Follow safety procedures, keep a clean workspace, and document service work.
• Provide dependable customer service and participate in safety meetings.

As a Service Technician I, you’ll help keep our customers’ businesses moving by maintaining and repairing the equipment they depend on every day. Whether you’re working in our shop or at a customer’s location, your mechanical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will make a real impact. What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair forklifts and other material handling equipment, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, and transmissions.
• Perform equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, component repairs, and basic welding to keep equipment running safely and reliably.
• Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, manage parts and supplies, and complete service documentation accurately and on time.
• Deliver dependable customer service, participate in safety meetings, and continue building your technical skills through hands-on experience and training.

What You’ll Bring

• A high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of forklift repair or related mechanical experience, and a valid driver’s license.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment and its systems, with certifications on at least 50% of the company’s product line. Trade school education and Hyster-Yale certifications are a plus.
• A safety-first mindset, a willingness to learn, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, perform physical work, and participate in an on-call schedule as needed.
