Job summary

Groome Industrial Service Group is seeking motivated individuals to travel from St. Louis, MO to respond to service calls at power generation plants across the region. This role includes hands-on training to de-slag large utility boilers using controlled explosives and offers a long-term career with room for advancement.

No prior experience is necessary—just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn; internal training may lead to licensing as explosives blasters. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
  • No felony or family violence convictions.
  • No DWI convictions in the last 5 years.
  • Ability to lift up to 90 pounds.
  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Reliable transportation and within an hour of the St. Louis office.
  • Willingness to be on call 24/7.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check.
  • Able to work outside in challenging conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to power generation sites as needed.
  • Train and operate safely with explosive materials to perform boiler cleaning.
  • Work in outdoor, industrial environments.
  • Follow strict safety protocols at all times.
