Job summary

Intertech Ci is seeking a Technician to install and service commercial security products including intrusion, access control, video, and fire systems. You will interpret blueprints, test systems, and ensure safety compliance while delivering excellent customer service on-site.

The role emphasizes hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and coordination with on-site teams to complete projects on time. A technical electronics background and valid driver’s license are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of electronics and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for customer interactions.
• Safety-conscious with adherence to codes and company standards.
• Technical degree in electronics or relevant hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Install and service commercial security devices and systems (intrusion, access control, video, fire).
• Complete final system testing after installation or service work.
• Interpret scopes of work and blueprints to guide installation.
• Follow building codes and safety standards at all times.
• Prepare pathways and supports for new cabling installations.
• Pull copper and coaxial cable in various building environments.
• Represent the company professionally on-site and in communications.
• Coordinate with Service Coordinators, Technicians, Project Managers and Field Managers regarding status.
• Provide exceptional customer service during every interaction.
• Participate in on-call schedule as required.

Position Summary: The Technician is primarily responsible for installing and servicing commercial security products including intrusion, access control, and video, and fire systems.

Position Responsibilities

• Install and service commercial security devices/systems including intrusion, access control, video, and fire
• Complete final system testing upon completion of installation or service
• Interpret scopes of work and blueprints
• Abide by building code standards and company safety standards
• Identify and prepare pathways and supports for new cabling system installations
• Pull copper and coaxial cable in backbone, horizontal and riser environments
• Exhibit professional appearance and conduct
• Communicate with Service Coordinators, Technicians, Project Mangers, Field Managers and other co-workers as required regarding project or call status
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Participate in on-call schedule

Essential Skills And Experience

• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of electronics and excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to program a plus
• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Technical degree in electronics or equivalent work experience
• Experience performing installation duties in commercial security or related industries
• Valid driver’s license with clear driving record
• Ability to drive to and from work office and work sites
