Job summary

Pavion Corp is hiring a Technician to support the installation and configuration of security systems including cameras, access control, and alarms. The role involves pulling low-voltage cables, routing them neatly, and ensuring safety and alignment with project specs.

You will collaborate with electricians and network specialists, assist with mounting equipment, and help document configurations and test installations on data-centre projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of experience installing security systems or working with low-voltage cabling.
• Knowledge of low-voltage systems including pulling, routing and terminating cables.

Responsibilities

• Security System Installation: assist in installation and configuration of security systems (cameras, access control, alarms).
• Cable Pulling and Management: pull and route low-voltage cables, ensure neat labeling and safety compliance.
• System Integration: work with team to integrate security equipment with other systems in data centers.
• Installation Support: mount equipment, connect power/data cables, perform initial power-ups.
• Conduit & Tray Work: install electrical conduit and cable trays per blueprints.
• Troubleshooting: identify and resolve issues with installations or cabling.
• Collaboration with Other Trades: coordinate with electricians and network specialists.
• Adherence to Safety Protocols: follow safety regulations on site.
• Documentation: maintain installation records and configurations.
• Quality Control: ensure installations meet standards and project specs.

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Technician to join our security business unit.

Primary Responsivities:

• Security System Installation: Assist in the installation and configuration of physical security systems, including cameras (CCTV), access control systems, alarm systems, and other related security technologies
• Cable Pulling and Management: Pull and route low-voltage cables (including network, power, and video cables) to support security systems installation. Ensure that cables are neatly organized, labeled, and meet all relevant safety and quality standards
• System Integration: Work with the installation team to ensure the smooth integration of security equipment with other systems within the data center
• Installation Support: Help with the physical installation of cameras, access control panels, alarm systems, and other security devices. This includes mounting equipment, connecting power and data cables, and performing initial power-ups
• Conduit & Tray Work: Install and secure electrical conduit and cable trays to house and route security system cabling according to blueprints and design specifications
• Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and troubleshooting any issues related to security system installations, cabling, or connectivity
• Collaboration with Other Trades: Work closely with electricians, network specialists, and other trades during the construction process to ensure coordination of installation activities
• Adherence to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety regulations and procedures while on the job site. Ensure that work is done safely, particularly when handling tools and electrical components
• Documentation: Assist in maintaining accurate installation records, including the routing and labeling of cables, installed devices, and system configurations
• Quality Control: Ensure that all installations meet company and industry standards for quality and security, following detailed blueprints and project specifications

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of experience in installing security systems or working with low-voltage cabling
• Prior experience with cable pulling, conduit installation, and other electrical work
• Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
• Knowledge of low-voltage systems, including how to pull, route, and terminate cables for security systems
• Basic understanding of electrical safety, tool usage, and security system components

Pay Range: The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00 per hour. The starting hourly pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
