Job summary

Trane Technologies’ Thermo King Midwest team is seeking a skilled technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Thermo King and Carrier refrigeration units on-site. You will diagnose and repair various systems, adjust components, and ensure proper documentation is completed after each job.

The role offers hands-on work with industry-leading transport refrigeration, ongoing training, and opportunities for career growth within a stable, respected organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent technical degree or certification.
• 1-2 years’ experience with transport refrigeration or HVAC.
• EPA 608 Universal or Type 1 and 2, EPA 609 Certification.
• Must supply own tools.
• Must be able to work overtime and on-call as needed.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to communicate with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of Thermo King and Carrier Refrigeration units.

Job title: Technician Thermo King Midwest is an award-winning Authorized Thermo King dealership group providing a complete line of refrigerated transportation products, including parts, service, and aftermarket accessories.

What you will do:

You will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of Thermo King and Carrier Refrigeration units; Diagnose, repair, adjust and modify all components; and Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.

What you will bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent Technical degree or certification, a plus but not required.
• A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working with transport refrigeration and or HVAC experience Thermo King refrigeration repair or HVAC Diesel engine repair, a plus but not required.
• Low voltage electrical systems and High voltage electrical systems Microprocessors EPA Certification 608 Universal or Type 1 and 2. 609 Certification.
• Must supply own tools.
• Must be able to work overtime and on-call as needed.
• Ability to achieve and maintain proper certifications and training.
• Ability to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle or free objects.
• Use computers for web-based training and work order system.
• Dependable and reliable.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Ability to retain knowledge of standard operating procedures and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier.
