Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Technician for the Thermo King Midwest team. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair transport refrigeration systems, working hands-on with industry-leading equipment in a fast-paced atmosphere.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in transport refrigeration/HVAC, own tools, and a valid driver's license with DOT readiness; overtime and on-call availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification is a plus.
• 3–5 years' experience with transport refrigeration or HVAC systems.
• Thermo King refrigeration repair or HVAC diesel engine repair is a plus.
• Must supply own tools and be able to work overtime/on-call.
• Valid driver's license with insurability; able to pass a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintenance, and repair Thermo King and Carrier refrigeration units.
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all components as needed.
• Keep paperwork up to date and submit upon completion.

What you will do

You will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of Thermo King and Carrier Refrigeration units; Diagnose, repair, adjust and modify all components; and Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.

What you will bring

• High School Diploma or equivalent Technical degree or certification, a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years' experience working with transport refrigeration and or HVAC experience
• Thermo King refrigeration repair or HVAC Diesel engine repair, a plus but not required
• Low voltage electrical systems
• High voltage electrical systems
• Microprocessors
• EPA Certification 608 Universal or Type 1 and 2.
• 609 Certification
• Must supply own tools
• Must be able to work overtime and on-call as needed
• Ability to achieve and maintain proper certifications and training
• Ability to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle or free objects.
• Use computers for web-based training and work order system
• Dependable and reliable
• Ability to safely operate a forklift
• Ability to retain knowledge of standard operating procedures and follow verbal and written instructions
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier.
• Must be able to pass a DOT approved physical

Compensation

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $28.64 - $44.31 Compensation Type: Hourly Incentive Eligible: No Sales Commission Eligible: No Disclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
