Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Technician with a strong background in automotive or aerospace quality metrology and body structure. This role will support new model development by inspecting body welding tooling, verifying part accuracy, and supporting first-build and pre-production activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with portable CMM equipment, 3D measurement systems, and sheet-metal quality assurance.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect body welding tooling, accessories, and components for quality and accuracy.
- Perform part and tooling measurements using portable CMM equipment, including FARO, VectorArm, Perceptron, Leica, and Creaform systems.
- Support first builds, sheet-metal sub-assembly trials, and body-build activities during pre-production events.
- Gather and analyze part information from digital engineering systems such as PolyWorks, CATIA, and 3D imaging software.
- Perform part-quality inspections using hand tools, quality-checking fixtures, scanners, laser trackers, and other metrology equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, parts, and part-fitting issues.
