Job summary
General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking a Technical Aide, Tech Writing to research, write, and publish system- and component-level technical descriptions for submarine platforms, coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines. You will develop interactive electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and interpret complex drawings and manuals.
The role requires attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree OR 4+ years of writing experience OR military experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Accurate interpretation of technical information from drawings, maintenance documents, and other sources.
- Attention to detail and organization.
- Project and time management.
- Efficient written and verbal communication.
- Independent problem and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge and proficiency in ARTEMIS/EVM principles, Word, Excel, Adobe product suite, XML/SGML, TITAN (CMS), ESD and import/export training.
