Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Technical Writer to support a high-impact, multi-agency program for USSF/SSC, USAF and other stakeholders. The role involves authoring, editing, and proofreading a wide range of documentation for a large SATCOM system, in collaboration with engineering teams.

The ideal candidate brings PKI and Agile experience, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear materials while meeting program requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical, writing, or related discipline with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of technical writing experience producing software and engineering documents.
• Experience with large, complex, or multi-volume technical documents.
• Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to develop/edit documents.
• Experience collaborating with engineers, systems, test, and management personnel.
• Experience editing for accuracy, completeness, organization, and consistency.
• Experience applying document standards and version control practices.
• Experience preparing documentation for audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
• Clearance TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Oversee collection, organization, and analysis of technical information for documentation.
• Collaborate with software developers, engineers, and other personnel to gather source data and media.
• Edit and refine functional descriptions and system specifications for accuracy and clarity.
• Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with program standards and DID requirements.
• Maintain document configuration management, version control, and traceability for deliverables.
