Job summary

J&T Business Consulting seeks a Technical Writer (Level 3) for Annapolis Junction, MD, to author and oversee complex cryptologic system documentation and DoD acquisition materials. You will translate intricate concepts for technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring compliance with NSA DS-89 guidelines.

The role requires active TS/SCI with Polygraph, a technical degree with extensive writing experience, and collaboration with engineers and SMEs using Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution with 8+ years of technical writing experience
• Master’s degree in a technical discipline with 6+ years of technical writing experience (Master's substituting for 2 years)
• 12 years of relevant technical writing experience without a degree (4 years substituting for the degree)
• Expertise authoring documentation in compliance with NSA DS-89 and defense acquisition frameworks

Responsibilities

• Author, edit, and maintain complex technical publications, user manuals, SOPs, training guides, and system design specifications
• Develop defense acquisition lifecycle documentation for DoD electronic systems and cryptologic platforms
• Ensure all docs adhere to NSA DS-89 and defense guidelines
• Research by gathering data from engineering docs, schematics, and SMEs
• Interpret drawings and workflows to document software and system data
• Lead documentation projects with large content and multiple contributors
• Perform peer reviews and QA on deliverables
• Maintain centralized documentation repository
• Prepare reports and briefings for technical and non-technical audiences using Word, PowerPoint, Visio
