Job summary

Staffed4U in Laurel, MD is seeking a Technical Writer to support a world‑wide engineering and IC IT contract. You will work with engineering, operations and government stakeholders to create, maintain, and manage technical documentation across hardware, software and systems.

The ideal candidate distills complex concepts into clear guides, develops developer‑oriented docs, and leads documentation tasks under tight deadlines while ensuring RMF, SDLC, and contract terminology alignment.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Seven years of relevant experience, including at least five years in a technical writing or lead writing role.
• Ability to distill complex information into clear, concise text.
• Excellent writing, editing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
• Experience designing and delivering developer-oriented documentation.
• Experience working with software development or technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain user documentation (how-tos, references, manuals, cheat sheets).
• Explain scientific and technical concepts in clear language.
• Translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
• Provide documentation for system components and engineering artifacts.
• Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents and user guides.
• Develop developer-oriented documentation with development teams.
• Use tools to build templates and output in various formats.
• Lead technical writing tasks and coordinate contract work.
• Serve as process owner for technical documentation.
• Manage experienced writers across documentation assignments.
• Support documentation related to SDLC, RMF, and contract terminology.
