Job summary

J&T Business Consulting seeks an experienced Technical Writer (Level 3) with active TS/SCI clearance to author, oversee, and maintain DoD cryptologic system documentation in Annapolis Junction, MD.

You will lead documentation efforts, ensure DS-89 compliance, and collaborate with engineers and SMEs to translate complex concepts into accessible materials, while maintaining centralized repositories and high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 8+ years of technical writing experience on programs/contracts of similar scope and complexity.
• Master’s degree in a technical discipline plus 6+ years of technical writing experience (Master’s substituting for 2 years).
• 12+ years of relevant technical writing experience without a degree (4 extra years substituting for degree).
• Demonstrated expertise authoring documentation in compliance with NSA DS-89 and defense acquisition frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Author, edit, and maintain complex technical publications, user manuals, SOPs, training guides, and system design specifications.
• Develop defense acquisition lifecycle documentation for DoD electronic systems and cryptologic mission platforms.
• Ensure all documentation products adhere to NSA DS-89 standards.
• Lead documentation projects with large volumes of content across multiple contributors.
• Perform peer reviews and quality assurance on documentation deliverables.
