Job summary

At Ditch Witch in Perry, Oklahoma, a Technical Writer helps produce precise instructional content—text, graphics, animations, and videos—while translating customer requirements into clear materials. You will manage multiple projects, route changes for review, and ensure documentation aligns with the Toro Style Guide.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical field or related experience, plus experience with XML, Arbortext Editor, and graphic tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Scientific and Technical Communications, English, or related engineering field or applicable experience as a writer/artist.
• 0–3+ years for Technical Writer I; 3–6+ years for Technical Writer II in instructional documentation.
• Experience with XML; Arbortext Editor or similar is desirable; strong visual/graphic skills.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate, instructional documentation using text, graphics, storyboards, animations, and videos.
• Define and translate customer requirements into clear instructional documentation.
• Study and apply storyboard concepts for graphics creation.
• Route workflow requests for changes to editors and product teams and incorporate feedback.
• Manage multi-project workload and meet production schedules.
• Apply metadata to graphics for search and reuse; ensure Toro Style Guide compliance.
• Collaborate with SME, Engineering, Product Evaluation, Service, Legal, and Marketing.
