Job summary

You will edit, draft, and format documents using Word, Acrobat, Drupal, and SharePoint, while coordinating with SMEs and meeting tight deadlines.

Requires 5+ years of technical writing and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical writing, editing and publishing experience.
• Experience creating Section 508‑compliant documents.
• Excellent grammar, synthesis, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple products and review cycles under deadlines.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain DHS Fitness Determination.

Responsibilities

• Draft and edit executive summaries, reports, studies, memoranda, and white papers.
• Conduct substantive and copy editing for clarity, accuracy, and tone.

Cybermedia Technologies (CTEC) is seeking an experienced Technical Writer II(DHS Suitability) to join our team

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

CISA’s Stakeholder Engagement Division requires an integrated team to support council and sector governance, approximately 500 annual engagements, stakeholder coordination, policy and risk analysis, executive communications, records, and contract management. The work spans unclassified and classified environments and requires products that are accurate, accessible, compliant, and ready for government use.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide technical editing, quality assurance, and compliance review for CISA executive products, reports, sector materials, and advisory deliverables. The role owns the details that make complex government products clear, consistent, accessible, and ready for release.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draft and edit executive summaries, reports, studies, memoranda, briefing materials, meeting records, white papers, and outreach products.
• Conduct substantive and copy editing for clarity, accuracy, organization, consistency, and tone.
• Use Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Drupal, and related tools to create templates and publication-ready products.
• Create or remediate Section 508-compliant documents, including tables, graphics, and presentation materials.
• Track document packages through drafting, coordination, comment adjudication, approval, version control, and delivery.
• Apply DHS/CISA templates, branding, style, records-management, and quality requirements.
• Work with SMEs and analysts to validate technical content without changing its substantive meaning.
• Maintain production logs and meet recurring and rapid-response deadlines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years experience in technical writing, editing, and publishing.
• Demonstrated experience creating Section 508-compliant documents.
• Excellent grammar, synthesis, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple products and review cycles under firm deadlines.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable DHS Fitness Determination (Public Trust/DHS Suitability); U.S. citizenship required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior CISA, DHS, or other federal-agency experience.
• Familiarity with federal or DHS-specific style guides.
• Advanced proficiency with Word, Acrobat, Drupal, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

CLEARANCE

• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable DHS Fitness Determination (Public Trust/DHS Suitability); U.S. citizenship required.

WHAT CANDIDATES SHOULD UNDERSTAND

• Work is expected to be onsite in Arlington, Virginia; approved telework may be available only as authorized by the Government.
• Positions are contingent upon contract award and successful completion of applicable security or suitability processing.
• For cleared positions, the recruiting requirement is an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI—not necessarily current SCI access on day one.
• For suitability positions, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable DHS Fitness Determination. Prior DHS service may help, but a previous Public Trust is not automatically transferable or guaranteed to reactivate.

PAY RANGE- $80,000–$100,000

Annually + Benefits(Compensation and employment offer are negotiable and will be finalized based on the candidate's relevant experience and interview assessment.
