Job summary

Arcata Associates, Inc. seeks a Technical Writer I to plan, write, edit, and proofread documents such as correspondence, manuals, proposals, and policies in support of the contract.

You will monitor document production, interface with engineers, guide graphics and style, ensure quality, and maintain compliance with military and publication standards, using Microsoft Office and related software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Business, Journalism, or equivalent discipline; in lieu of degree, 3 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, write, edit, and proofread documents such as correspondence, manuals, proposals and policies.
• Monitor document production flow from inception to distribution and resolve issues.
• Interface with engineers to produce manuals, test plans, statements of work and other customer documents.
• Provide guidance on graphics, quality, coverage, format and style for documents.
• Use MS Office and related software for document production and seek improvements.
• Maintain digital tracking of JT4 and vendor documents for processing.
• Perform quality assurance on deliverables and ensure compliance with standards.
• Read and interpret engineering documentation and manage multiple documents.
