AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Technical Writer II to support documentation across our information technology and engineering programs. You will work with product teams to understand document requirements and help ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, or information systems.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
• 2+ years writing technical reports and documentation.
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiar with Arbortect Editor, Adobe CC, HTML, XML.

Responsibilities

• Work with the technical implementation teams to understand the product document requirements.
• Assist in the creation and submission of documentation for compliance with our Quality Management System.
• Assist in standardization and simplification of technical writing processes, procedures, and style guidelines.
• Contribute to documentation development lifecycle improvements
• Convert legacy formatting to latest formatting/style guidelines.
• Create documentation based on standardized templates.
• Analyze and edit content to maintain continuity of style and content.
• Assess audience needs for the technical and procedural documentation.
• Conduct document reviews and collect input from stakeholders.
• Create data flow diagrams, component diagrams, and similar technical illustrations.
