Job summary

JumpCloud is hiring a Technical Writer to lead and scale documentation across API references, guides, and release notes. You will drive Docs-as-Code workflows in GitHub, ensuring accuracy for IT admins and developers while leveraging AI tools for efficient content production.

The role involves designing in-app onboarding content and announcements using platforms like Pendo, enabling a seamless user experience within a fast-moving SaaS environment. This remote-first team spans 15+ countries.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years as a Technical Writer, Documentation Engineer, or Product Content Strategy Specialist in SaaS.
• Proven mastery of GitHub, Markdown, and Static Site Generators within a Docs-as-Code pipeline.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI tools, prompt engineering, and in-app notification tools like Pendo.

Responsibilities

• Lead, scale, and optimize product and developer documentation using Docs-as-Code workflows in GitHub.
• Author and edit API references, developer guides, user how-tos, configuration guides, and release notes for IT admins.

• Leverage cutting-edge AI documentation tools, prompt engineering, and modern automation to streamline content creation.
• Keep documentation technically accurate, end user focused, and optimized for human readers and AI retrieval systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage documentation using Docs-as-Code workflows in GitHub, including Markdown, branches, PRs, and code reviews.
• Author and edit API references, developer guides, user how-tos, configuration guides, and release notes for IT admins.
• Design, deploy, and manage in-app onboarding flows, tooltips, and release announcements using Pendo or similar platforms.

Requirements & Qualifications:
