Job summary

ALSO in Silicon Valley seeks a technical writer to produce owner’s guides, service manuals, and accessory guides for hardware and software. You’ll work with engineers, illustrators, and product teams to ensure clear, accurate documentation for a global audience.

You’ll learn complex products quickly, collaborate with subject matter experts, and publish content across multiple formats while maintaining up-to-date materials for new features.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of technical writing in a complex product environment (hardware and software).
• Experience documenting hardware assembly or installation at the product level.
• Write for a global audience with topic-based, structured content and clear organization.
• Excellent written English, concise and logical flow.
• Ability to learn complex products quickly from SMEs and translate to docs.
• Proficient in XML/HTML authoring tools; MadCap Flare a plus.

Responsibilities

• Research and write technical content for hardware and software products.
• Produce owner’s guides, service manuals, and accessory guides for global audiences.
• Collaborate with engineers, illustrators, and product teams to ensure accuracy.
• Develop scalable content easily translatable into multiple languages.
• Manage content through revision control and translations; publish across formats.
• Keep documentation up to date with new features and releases.
• Partner with the Tech Publications team to improve processes and usability.
