Job summary

Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level Technical Writer to support the creation of technical documentation, SOPs, user guides, training materials, and operational docs for U.S. Coast Guard systems and Moodle LMS environments.

The role requires 3–5 years of federal technical writing experience, proficiency with LMS platforms, and strong editing and document management skills. Onsite work in DC area is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, IT, or related field.
• 3–5 years of technical writing experience supporting federal programs.
• Experience developing IT and cybersecurity documentation.
• Familiarity with LMS platforms and software development documentation.
• Strong editing, formatting, and document management skills.
• Experience supporting DHS or DoD environments preferred.

Salary Range:

Pay range information will be disclosed consistent with applicable state and local pay transparency laws once available. For this position, the anticipated salary range is $85,000-$95,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
