• Proficiency with Adobe Technical Communication Suite and Microsoft Office.
• DoD Secret security clearance required or ability to obtain interim Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical documentation supporting BIM Task Order operations including System/Subsystem Design Descriptions, operational procedures, user guides, and technical manuals.
• Prepare Contract Data Requirements List deliverables including technical reports, plans, and documentation packages.
• Write clear, concise technical documentation for complex network systems and operations.
• Develop standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Prepare system documentation including network topology descriptions, configuration guides, and operational manuals.
• Review technical content for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain document version control and configuration management.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts gathering technical information for documentation development.
• Prepare proposal documentation and technical volumes.
• Develop training materials and user documentation.
• Edit and format technical documents ensuring consistency and professional presentation.
• Maintain documentation repositories and libraries.

Job description

This Technical Writer position develops and maintains technical documentation supporting BIM Task Order operations including System/Subsystem Design Descriptions, operational procedures, user guides, and technical manuals. This position is a hybrid position with most work being remote, with attendance at our office in McLean, VA as needed for meetings, work sessions, etc.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical documentation supporting BIM Task Order operations including System/Subsystem Design Descriptions, operational procedures, user guides, and technical manuals
• Prepare Contract Data Requirements List deliverables including technical reports, plans, and documentation packages
• Writes clear, concise technical documentation for complex network systems and operations
• Develop standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process documentation
• Prepare system documentation including network topology descriptions, configuration guides, and operational manuals
• Review technical content for accuracy and completeness
• Maintain document version control and configuration management
• Coordinate with subject matter experts gathering technical information for documentation development
• Prepare proposal documentation and technical volumes
• Develops training materials and user documentation
• Edit and format technical documents ensuring consistency and professional presentation
• Maintain documentation repositories and libraries

Required Qualifications

• Possesses Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, communications, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of technical writing experience in IT, telecommunications, or engineering environments.
• Proficiency with Adobe Technical Communication Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Some travel may be required for his position (5% or less)
• DoD Secret security clearance required or the ability to successfully pass a background check and obtain an interim Secret clearance.
