Job description

Connsci is seeking a Technical Writer to join our Identity Credentialing & Access Management (ICAM) team on one of our large federal programs. This individual will be responsible for producing clear, comprehensive, and accessible documentation. This role involves creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), System Security Plans (SSPs), user guides, and ensuring all documentation meets Section 508 accessibility requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with technical teams to translate complex concepts into easily understandable materials for diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including SOPs, SSPs, and user manuals.
• Work collaboratively with technical teams and subject matter experts to accurately capture system operations and compliance requirements.
• Ensure all documentation meets agency formatting standards and Section 508 accessibility guidelines.
• Regularly review and update existing documentation to reflect system enhancements and compliance changes.
• Create accessible and user-friendly content tailored for varied audience expertise levels.
• Coordinate documentation reviews and approvals with key stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in technical writing
• At least 2 years of experience supporting federal IT or cybersecurity projects
• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related discipline
• Current Public Trust or higher level government clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Section 508 compliance standards highly preferred.

Location: This role can be performed remotely but occasional team meeting are possible so preference will be given to applicants who are local to the DC Metro area.
