Job Description:
Seeking Technical Writers to join our high-performing team in developing technical documentation for advanced military systems. These include radars for F-22, F-35, Joint Strike Fighter, F-16, B-1B, MESA, G/ATOR, VADER, and other UAV systems.
Responsibilities:
- Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents such as procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related publications to communicate technical information effectively.
- Oversee preparation of illustrative materials, including drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.
- Conduct quality reviews of materials.
- Publish materials in various formats, including page-based, electronic (basic and interactive), structured (HTML, XML, SGML).
- Collaborate with task leads, engineers, writers, and instructors to develop and deliver sensor/system technical manuals in varying formats and levels of detail.
- Perform desktop publishing for reports, whitepapers, articles, and other documents.
- Research and compile information from program documents and engineering sources to develop manual outlines, adhering to military and civilian standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proactive attitude, problem-solving and organizational skills, self-motivated.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or related field, or military operations and maintenance experience with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks, and information technology-based sensors/systems.
- Expert knowledge of MS Office products.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with structured authoring tools such as MadCap, FrameMaker, or Arbortext.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail.
- Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
- Self-starter and team player.
Additional Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ technical writing experience.
- Knowledge of content management strategies.
- Knowledge of ASD-STE 100 (Simplified Technical English).
- Knowledge of standards such as XML, SGML, HTML, S1000, and DITA.
- Possession and maintenance of DoD TS/SCI clearance.
