Job Title: Technical Writer/Documentation Analyst-C

Documentation and CAD Technician

Location: Remote or Ashburn, VA

Travel: Travel may be required – <20% (approx. two 1–2-week trips per year)

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Document analyst/technical writer in support of Engineering Design, Implementation, and Operations.
2. Develop, review, coordinate, and release various technical documentation, drawings, and work products required for engineering projects through coordination with Subject Matter Experts.
3. Research, write, edit, and produce contract CDRLs such as Test Plans, Test Procedures, System Design Specifications, Telecommunications System Installation Plans, Technical Manuals, etc.
4. Provide documentation and coordination to facilitate effective configuration management of key project product and documentation elements, resolving technical issues as needed.
5. Support technical proposal development when necessary.
6. Manage documentation workflow to ensure all CDRL development meets requirements and delivery timelines.
7. Proofread/edit technical content produced by others including program managers, engineers, and proposal writers.
8. Perform other writing, proofreading, and editing duties as assigned.
9. Support the Installation and Documentation Manager to produce quality deliverables on time.
10. Assist engineering team in prioritizing workloads, resource planning, and executing documentation and drawings tasks.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree with 4-6 years of experience in a writing/drafting-focused discipline or equivalent education, training, or experience.
• Technical writing experience with Engineering and/or IT background.
• Ability to write clearly and concisely in an active voice.
• Ability to translate content guidelines into comprehensive documents.
• Experience following strict composition guidelines including CDRLs, MIL-STDs, DIDs, or other standards.
• Diplomatic and tactful communication with customers.
• Ability to work independently following instructions.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Adobe.
• Strong skills in MS Visio and other MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel).
• Attention to detail, customer service orientation, and organizational skills.
• US citizenship is required to access sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical training in CAD.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
