Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Technical Documentation Specialist in Colorado Springs to develop and edit engineering specifications, manuals, and reports for Air Force-related contracts. You will ensure compliance with MIL standards, interpret complex information for diverse audiences, and maintain high documentation quality across all deliverables.

Applicants must hold an Active Secret Clearance and a bachelor’s degree, with proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro and FrameMaker.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 2+ years’ experience
• Active Secret Clearance
• Familiarity with TO 00-5-1, TO 00-5-3, and TO 00-5-15
• Experience using PDF editing software such as Adobe Acrobat Pro or PDF-Xchange
• Experience with document processing software, including Adobe FrameMaker

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and edit comprehensive engineering specifications, user manuals, reports, briefings, presentations, guidelines, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements
• Gather and interpret complex technical information for technical and non-technical audiences
• Create and edit Air Force Technical Orders, Time Compliance Technical Orders, Contractor Furnished Equipment Notices, and other documentation in compliance with contract or project requirements
• Ensure proper application of applicable government standards including MIL-STD-38784, MIL-DTL-38807, MIL-DTL-38804, MIL-PRF-32216, and other relevant guidelines to all documents
• Review technical documentation created by peers to ensure all information is incorporated correctly and all standards are followed
