Job summary

Rapid Cycle Solutions LLC (RCS) is seeking a Technical Writer to support the Cloud Investment Multi-Cloud Management (CIMM) program in Chantilly, VA. You will gather, analyze, and translate technical information into clear documents for both technical and non-technical audiences, including SOPs, manuals, and reports, while updating graphics to enhance usability.

This role requires TS/SCI with CI Polygraph, U.S. citizenship, and strong writing/editing skills.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph is required.
• U.S. Citizenship is required (NO EXCEPTIONS).
• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years experience; Master’s with 7+ years; PhD/JD with 4+ years.
• Will accept additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience organizing activities for a small team of writers.
• Experience with Confluence, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort researching cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Composing technical documents including SOPs, user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
• Editing functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, and other customer deliverables.
• Conducting research and ensuring proper technical terminology usage.
• Organizing material and completing writing tasks according to standards.
• Establishing editorial standards and overall document layout.
• Collaborating with the PMO to maintain a consistent style and language.
• Managing schedules, assignments, and meetings for narratives and submissions.

RCS is seeking a Technical Writer to join our multi-million dollar national intelligence program supporting the Cloud Investment Multi-Cloud Management (CIMM) team. As a contributor to the intelligence community's first multi-cloud initiative, you will be at the epicenter of emergent cloud computing technologies establishing a foundation that will evolve to include all agencies within the IC.

The Technical Writer gathers, analyzes, and composes technical information. Conducts research and ensures the use of proper technical terminology. Translates technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel. Supports the development of all types of documents and reports by developing and updating graphics presentations to improve the quality and enhance the usability of these documents.

This position requires the candidate to meet specific Security Clearance obligations to work onsite in Chantilly, VA.
What you will do:

• Composing technical documents including, Standard Operating procedures (SOPs), user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports
• Editing functional descriptions, system specifications, user's manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents
• Conducting research and ensuring the use of proper technical terminology
• Organizing material and completing writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, conciseness, style, and terminology
• Establishing the overall organizational layout and editorial standards of the submissions
• Working with the PMO to develop a consistent, uniform style and language
• Managing the schedule, assignments, and meetings associated with all narratives and submissions

Required Qualifications/Education:

• Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
  • U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS)
• Bachelor’s and nine (9) years or more experience; Master’s and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience
  • Will accept additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Organizing and coordinating the activities for a small team of writers
• Demonstrated experience using Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be comfortable researching cloud technologies
