Job summary

Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation in West Allis, WI is seeking a Technical Training Program Manager to lead training programs for Steam Turbine Generator projects from contract award through startup and initial operation.

You will develop and deliver training on plant operations, maintenance, and control systems, coordinate with project teams and customers, and manage schedules, materials, and instructors to ensure successful program delivery and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree is required in engineering technology or related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• 6+ years in power generation, industrial operations, maintenance, commissioning, engineering support, or technical training.
• Experience coordinating complex projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience developing, delivering, or managing technical training programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of customer technical training programs for STG projects.
• Coordinate training activities with PM, Engineering, Controls, Field Services, and customer personnel.
• Establish and manage training schedules aligned with manufacturing, installation, commissioning, startup, turnover, and operation milestones.
• Develop, source, evaluate, and maintain training materials (presentations, manuals, lesson plans, exams, videos).
• Standardize training programs while incorporating customer-specific equipment and maintenance practices.
• Coordinate and manage instructors, technical specialists, and subject matter experts supporting training initiatives.
• Deliver selected training courses and presentations as required.
• Track training completion, attendance, certifications, examinations, and contractual deliverables; maintain records.
• Provide status reporting, readiness assessments, risk management support, and updates to project teams and customers.
• Collect feedback and drive continuous improvement to enhance program quality and customer satisfaction.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Technical Training Program Manager to work out of our West Allis, WI office. The Technical Training Program Manager will lead technical training programs for Toshiba American Energy Systems. This includes new Steam Turbine Generator (STG) projects from contract award through plant startup and new hire, as well as ongoing, training activities. This role plans, develops, coordinates, and executes training programs that meet contractual requirements, project schedules, customer and company needs. This position will develop and deliver training on plant operations, maintenance, and control systems while coordinating with project teams, technical experts, and customers. This individual will manage training schedules, materials, and deliverables to ensure customer and project requirements are met, while supporting the continuous improvement of Toshiba's training programs and resources.

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of customer technical training programs supporting New Steam Turbine Generator (STG) projects.
• Coordinate training activities with Project Management, Engineering, Controls Engineering, Field Services, Commissioning, Toshiba affiliates, suppliers, and customer personnel.
• Establish and manage training schedules aligned with manufacturing, installation, commissioning, startup, turnover, and commercial operation milestones.
• Develop, source, evaluate, and maintain training materials, including presentations, manuals, lesson plans, exercises, examinations, videos, and reference documentation, using technical inputs from Toshiba Japan, engineering teams, suppliers, historical training packages, and subject matter experts.
• Standardize training programs where practical while incorporating customer- and plant-specific equipment, control systems, operating philosophies, and maintenance practices.
• Coordinate and manage internal and external instructors, technical specialists, and subject matter experts supporting customer training initiatives.
• Deliver selected customer training courses and presentations as required, serving as an instructor for designated training modules.
• Track training completion, attendance, certifications, examinations, and contractual deliverables while maintaining training records and document control requirements.
• Provide routine status reporting, readiness assessments, risk management support, and training execution updates to project teams and customers.
• Collect customer feedback, evaluate training effectiveness, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program quality, customer satisfaction, and long-term program sustainability.

Education and Required Experience

• Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology, Power Plant Technology, Industrial Technology, Technical Education, or a related discipline is required.
• Equivalent combinations of technical education, military technical training, industry certifications, and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in power generation, industrial operations, maintenance, commissioning, engineering support, technical training, or a related technical field.
• Experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience developing, delivering, or managing technical training programs.
• Experience developing technical training materials, lesson plans, and instructional programs.
• Experience managing instructors, technical consultants, contractors, or subcontracted resources.
• Experience supporting customer-facing projects and contractual deliverables.

May be exposed to manufacturing facilities, power generation sites, construction areas, or field environments with moving equipment, elevated noise levels, temperature variations, and other industrial hazards. Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements when visiting operational sites.

Additional Info

Travel up to 20% may be required for customer training delivery, site visits, project meetings, instructor coordination, content development, and visits to Toshiba affiliates or supplier locations.
