Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking an LAS Operations Training Specialist to prepare, facilitate, and perform training for new and existing LAS team members and equipment users.

You will shadow the equipment service team, edit training materials, and complete assessments, ensuring competencies are met and training records are maintained.

This role requires a strong customer focus, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and willingness to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Training and Development, or related field or an Associate’s Degree with 2 years of relevant training experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a technical trainer, corporate trainer, or related training experience.
• 2+ years of experience servicing laboratory or medical equipment.
• Strong understanding of instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, technical, and/or hands-on training.
• Strong computer skills including internet navigation, email, word processing, and data/records management.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, communicate, and lead technical training classes.
• Identify and adapt training style to meet learner needs.
• Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training.
• Respond to technical questions or seek guidance if answers are unknown.
• Assist in retraining employees, as needed.
• Help develop the training expertise, behavior, mindsets, and skillsets of team members.
• Collaborate with other trainers cross-functionally.
• Create, edit, and maintain training materials or process documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of training per policies and procedures.
