Job summary

BSH Home Appliances Corporation in Irvine seeks a Technical Training Designer to create and deliver appliance repair training. You will design instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced online courses and develop engaging digital assets using Articulate 360 and Adobe Creative Suite.

You will ensure accessibility, build assessments, and collaborate across Product Support, Technical Support, and Field Service teams to support evolving appliance technologies.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in instructional design, education, technical communication or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3–5 years of experience creating technical training or eLearning content in appliance/heating or similar mechanical/electrical service sectors.
• Proficiency with Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise) and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong writing skills, ability to explain complex concepts simply and clearly.
• Knowledge of instructional design methods (ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theory.

Responsibilities

Technical Training Designer

Irvine, CA / Full-time

Your Responsibilities

The

• Collaborate with SMEs to gather technical information and translate it into clear, structured, and engaging learning content.
• Design and develop instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, and self-paced eLearning courses for appliance repair training.
• Create digital assets including interactive modules, simulations (hands on and in web-based trainings), instructor manuals, and knowledge checks using tools like Articulate 360 (i.e. Storyline, Rise) and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Develop assessments to measure learner retention, comprehension, and job performance readiness.
• Ensure training materials meet instructional design best practices, adult learning principles, and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
• Organize and manage content updates as appliance technologies evolve and new models are released.
• Analyze training needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
• Work cross-functionally with Product Support, Technical Support, and Field Service teams.
• Use project management tools to meet deadlines and manage multiple development cycles.
• Support LMS integration and course deployment as needed.
• All other duties as related

Pay range: $80K - $105K

Incentive Plan: Annual Bonus

Your profile

• Four-Year College (Instructional Design, Education, Technical Communication, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience) – Required
• 3-5 Years Experience (Developing technical training or eLearning content, ideally in appliance, HVAC, or similar mechanical/electrical service industries - Required
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.), Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Strong technical and analytical writing skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in simple, concise language.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Understanding of instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) and adult learning theory.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and project management capabilities.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Travel: 30%

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

• Two weeks of paid vacation for all non-temporary status new hires below Director level positions. Vacation entitlement increases based on years of service with BSH.
• Unlimited paid vacation for all Director and above level positions.
• The greater of (a) 40 hours of paid sick leave or (b) state or local minimum requirements for paid leave (Non-Production Line).
• 40 hours of paid personal leave (Production Line).
• 12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
