Job summary

Inductive Automation in Washington, DC seeks a Technical Trainer I to develop and deliver technical course material on Ignition, and maintain certification. This role offers in-person, hybrid, or remote options with travel required to customer sites.

You will train beginners, both virtually and on-site; explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences; create resources and assist with certifications; and support other training tasks within IA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or instructional field or 4+ years of relevant technical education experience.
• 2+ years of classroom and/or eLearning instructional development or delivery.
• Ignition experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to convey a wide range of technical concepts clearly and succinctly.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing and speaking.
• Familiarity with a programming language (Python, Java, C++, etc).
• Familiarity with SQL.
• Ability to write effective documentation for processes and procedures.
• Enthusiasm for teaching.
• Experience teaching programming classes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Delivering customer facing beginner level Ignition training courses that effectively transfer knowledge and actively engage the students.
• Delivering training courses both virtually and in person.
• Communicating complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Preparing and cleaning-up of classroom both virtual and in-house.
• Continuing to build Ignition knowledge beyond the ability to handle all customer questions in beginner classes.
• Providing learning resources and guidance to employees throughout the company as needed.
• Administering Ignition certification and assisting with any certification issues from IA staff or customers.
• Assisting with other Training projects or tasks as assigned by their supervisor.
