Koolbridge Energy designs and manufactures the Smart Load Center (SLC), a patented dual-bus, UL 67 listed residential load center that manages solar, battery, grid and generator power at the circuit level.
We're looking for a customer-focused Technical Support Specialist to help installers and electrical contractors with installation, commissioning and troubleshooting, and to help homeowners with the SLC app and everyday operation. You'll provide clear, practical support by phone, email and video. We'll train the right person on our product; prior smart-panel experience isn't required. Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Responsibilities
- Support qualified installers with SLC installation, wiring, configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting, using diagrams, site photos, app data and customer descriptions
- Troubleshoot integration with solar inverters, batteries, and generators connected through compatible hybrid inverters
- Help homeowners and installers with the SLC app, Bluetooth pairing, inverter and battery communications such as Modbus, and state-of-charge and load data
- Review panel schedules and circuit assignments against Koolbridge installation guidelines, and elevate code questions to engineering
- Own support cases through resolution in our ticketing and CRM system, meeting response targets and keeping clear records
- Escalate complex, safety-related and potential product-defect issues to engineering; help coordinate returns and warranty claims
- Maintain troubleshooting guides, FAQs and how-to materials; share recurring issues with engineering and product teams
- Support Certified Installer Program training and occasionally assist with on-site commissioning and field visits
- Travel to 3-4 industry events per year, plus occasional field visits
What we're looking for
- Working knowledge of residential electrical systems, including panels, breakers, grounding and bonding, and basic load calculations
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) as it applies to residential, solar, battery and backup-power installations
- Ability to read wiring and single-line diagrams, specifications and installation manuals
- Methodical, safety-first troubleshooting and clear communication with both electricians and homeowners
- Patience, organization and follow-through, including when customers are under job-site pressure
- Comfort with computers, mobile apps and support software, and the ability to work independently within a small team
Helpful experience
Experience with solar, batteries, generators, smart panels, device connectivity or electrical fieldwork is a plus. Electrical licenses, apprenticeships and NABCEP certifications are welcome but not required. Technical support, customer service, documentation or training experience is also helpful.
