The Technical Support Specialist will provide 24x7x365 frontline technical support and monitoring for critical Energy Management Systems (EMS), SCADA, and ancillary power-system applications. The role is responsible for monitoring system health and availability, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, coordinating incidents with EMS and operations teams, and ensuring critical systems remain reliable and operational. The position requires strong troubleshooting, communication, and prioritization skills, along with an understanding of utility environments, critical infrastructure, compliance, and change-management processes.
Monitor SCADA, EMS, and ancillary systems for health, performance, and availability.
Provide frontline technical support, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
Coordinate repairs and escalations with EMS, IT, operations, and other technical teams.
Track, document, and manage support cases through resolution.
Communicate system outages, incidents, and events to key customers and stakeholders.
Monitor and support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) systems.
Follow established Change Management and knowledge-based procedures.
Prioritize incidents based on criticality and operational impact to the Bulk Power System.
Maintain compliance with NERC CIP, FERC, SOX, access-control, and other regulatory requirements.
Support continuous process improvement and provide feedback on system and customer-support processes.
Work rotating 8- or 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
