Job summary

Prolec GE, now part of the GE Vernova group, is seeking an IT Technical Support Specialist in Goldsboro, NC. The role designs, organizes, and supports corporate computer systems and serves as a mentor to teammates, with opportunities to learn new technologies and contribute to policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate or BS in Computer Science or 3–5 years’ related experience.
• Professional or personal experience with web or application programming is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, anticipate issues.
• Extensive knowledge of operating systems and applications, as well as hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Strong willingness to document processes and solutions.

• O365 Administration
• Plan future implementations, migrations, and integrations with attention to detail.
• Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, access rights and software licenses/subscriptions.
• Maintain accurate inventory and asset listing of IT Equipment.
• Assist with and document network software, hardware, and system security maintenance.
• Learn new technologies to research, recommend, schedule, and perform upgrades.
• Configure authentication and directory services.

JOB SUMMARY

The IT Technical Support Specialist is responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting Prolec GE Waukesha corporate computer hardware and software systems. In addition, this position fulfills the role of mentor to other team members, to accelerate their development. Candidates will need to be able to quickly acquire new skills and follow company policies and procedures.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
