This is an exciting opportunity to join Oxfordshire County Council providing administrative and office support for a small but busy Archaeological Team. Whilst this role is based within, and supporting, the Archaeological Team no previous experience of archaeology is required, and full training will be given. An interest in or background in archaeology would be an advantage but is not essential. Based within the Archaeology section of the Council's Countryside and Waste Team in Oxford, you will be working within a small but well-respected and knowledgeable team, currently consisting of five people. The team manages the Historic Environment Record for Oxfordshire and provides development management advice both to the County Council, and to four District Councils - South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse, West Oxfordshire and Cherwell. The team also advises on planning policy including the Minerals and Waste Local Plan, Local Transport and Connectivity Plan, the Oxfordshire Infrastructure Strategy, as well as District Local Plans in various stages of development and Neighbourhood Plans. As the demand for our services grows the team has a need for a Technical Officer to support the administration needs of the team including managing inboxes and coordinating responses to enquiries, recoding and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), raising and tracking invoices and purchase orders.
